  Notes	Known as Madame Marie Dorsa. She was black. Widow of William Dorsa who died nine years ago. Daughter of Robert H Morris and Martha Tann. She was twice married; survived by a daughter, Miss Grace Thompson, child with her first husband William Thompson. She is also survived by a brother Robert H. Morris, Esq. Boston Mass., a sister Mrs Adah J. Price of Danville. Her father was the grandson of a fullblooded Indian of the tribe of Northumberland county before 1776. She was a singer known over a great part of America. It was claimed she had a range greater than any other female singer in America. A member of the colored Canadian Concert Company, also known as the Canadian Jubilee Singers. They traveled over North and South America, the west Indies and other islands. Her daughter Grace M. Thompson is also with the concert company. Most of the singers, who are all black, are descendants of negroes who with the aid of sympathetic northerners and the underground railroad were able to get into the North and Canada. They have been on the road for 31 years.
