  Notes	In the Civil War John Harris served with Company F, of the 20th New York (according to the 1890 Veterans census) United States Colored Troops. According to his death notice, published in the Harrisburg Daily Independent, on April 1, 1895: "John Harris, of Eleventh-and-a-Half street, died yesterday morning at the age of 57 years. He was a trustee of Harris A. M. E. Zion church." (Birth date was calculated from age of death in his death notice.) Gravesite Details Grave Marker was buried prior to SOAL's March 2022 Restoration Weekend. It is broken, and only the top of his gravestone has been found.
