  Notes	Carlisle Evening Herald, Carlisle, Pa 25 Jun 1900, Mon pg 1 Mr Nelson Shadney, colored, died at 7 o'clock yesterday morning at his residence on Walnut street. He had been ill since Spring with a complication of diseases. Mr Shadney was born in Jefferson county, West Virginia, and was aged 85 years. He resided in Carlisle for 36 years and engaged in trucking and carting. The deceased attended the Mt Zion Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs Geo Humphries, Carlisle; Mrs Mary Coxen, Harrisburg; Mrs Alexander Davis, Carlisle; Emily, New York; Susie, Boston; Nelson, Atlantic City; Harvey, Lavina, and Carrie, at home; also one brother and one sister-Cyrus, this place, and Mrs Albin Queen, Charlestown. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from his late residence. Interment in North Pitt street graveyard.
