  Notes	son of Major Layton, born, Boon, Delaware and Rebecca Stevens Layton, born, Philadelphia, PA. ------------------------- Services for Morris H. Layton, Sr., city school teacher for fifty-five years, who died Sunday at the home of his son, Dr. M. H. Layton, Jr., 930 North street, will be held at Wesley A. M E. Zion Church, at 9 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. He was the oldest member of the church. He retired from teaching in 1926, was the oldest living alumnus of the Institute for Colored Youths, now Cheney State Teachers College, where he graduated in 1876. He began his teaching career in old Tech High School Building, later taught at the old Day School and when retired was head instructor at the Wickersham Building. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Hattie McFadden, Detroit, Mich.; three sons, Ira H., Marshall H., and Dr. M. H. Layton, Jr., all of Harrisburg. Harrisburg Newspaper - Dec. 13, 1938
