  Notes	John Sturgis Jr., 87, owned hotel John Irvin Sturgis Jr., 87, of 4161 Sixth Ave., Los Angeles, formerly of Lancaster, died July 10 at home of natural causes. Sturgis owned and operated a small hotel and nightclub in Lancaster for 26 years. He previously served on the Harrisburg Police Force for 10 years. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Lancaster. He graduated from John Harris High School, where he excelled in a variety of athletics. He was a five-letter man known as Flying Cloud to football fans, v He earned an athletic scholarship to Lincoln University and then attended Morgan State College, Baltimore. He was inducted into Morgan States Football Hall of Fame and was known as one of four football Four Horsemen. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late John Irvin Sr. and Bessie Roller Sturgis. He was married to Sadie Elizabeth Brown Sturgis for 62 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are five daughters, Loretta Brown, Caryn Hobbs and Tanya Sturgis, all of Los Angeles, Kathleen Boyce of Lancaster and Gaye Bennin of Minneapolis; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
